Returns and Refunds

This policy explains when you can return something to us, how to do it, and how refunds are handled. It applies to purchases made through rectangletriangle.com. It is in addition to the rights you hold under consumer protection law — it does not replace them.

Your legal rights come first

Everything we sell, new and pre-owned, is covered by the legal warranty of quality and durability provided by law. That warranty cannot be excluded or shortened, and nothing in this policy does so. If an item is defective or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of how much time has passed under the sections below.

If something is wrong with your order

arrived damaged
is defective
is not the item you ordered
is a pre-owned record in materially worse condition than its listed grade

We will replace it or refund it in full, including the original shipping you paid, and we cover the cost of returning it. You do not need to pay return postage on our error.

Condition grading on pre-owned records is our honest assessment. If you receive a record that plays or looks significantly below the grade we listed, treat it as a misdescription under this section — not a change of mind.

Changed your mind

Equipment, accessories, merchandise and apparel may be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unused, unopened and in their original packaging with all accessories. Return shipping is at your cost. Once we receive and inspect the item, we refund the purchase price. Original shipping charges are not refunded.

Records are final sale. We do not accept returns or exchanges on records, new or pre-owned, for change of mind, for any reason — including if you already own the release, ordered the wrong pressing, or no longer want it. Vinyl is easily damaged by handling and playback, and we cannot resell a returned copy as we described it.

Please read the listing and the condition grade carefully before ordering, and write to us with any questions before you buy — we are glad to check a copy for you.

This applies to change of mind only. If a record arrives damaged, is defective, or does not match its listed grade or description, it is covered by the section above and by the legal warranty, and we will refund or replace it.

Gift cards cannot be returned or refunded.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom

You have a right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Tell us at info@rectangletriangle.com within that period and return the goods within 14 days of telling us. We will refund the purchase price and standard outbound shipping within 14 days of receiving the goods back. Return shipping is at your cost.

As permitted by law, this withdrawal right does not apply to sealed audio recordings once the seal has been broken.

If your order has not arrived

Transit problems, including parcels that do not arrive or show as delivered but were not received, are handled under our Shipping Policy. Until you take possession of your order, the risk of loss in transit is ours. Contact us and we will investigate with the carrier and replace or refund the order.

If we have not delivered your order within 30 days of the delivery date we gave you, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.

How to start a return

Write to info@rectangletriangle.com with your order number and what is wrong, or which items you want to return. We will confirm the return and give you the address to send to. Please do not send anything back before contacting us — we may not be able to identify or credit an unannounced return.

Returns can also be brought to either of our stores during opening hours, with your order confirmation.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. We process the refund within 15 days of receiving the returned item, or of agreeing the refund where no return is needed. Your bank or card issuer may take additional days to post it.

If you paid in a currency other than Canadian dollars, we refund the amount charged in that currency. Exchange rate movements between purchase and refund are outside our control.

We do not charge restocking fees.

Exchanges

The fastest way to exchange something is to return the original item under the sections above and place a new order. If you would prefer a direct exchange, write to us and we will arrange it where the stock is available.
