Quintette vocal masculin américain de R&B/Soul, Funk et Disco de Philadelphie, PA.
Initialement appelés The Blue Notes (3) au milieu des années 50, ils ont changé de nom pour « Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes » au milieu des années 60. L'un des membres fondateurs, Bernard Williams (3), a ensuite fondé son propre groupe, The Original Blue Notes. Ils sont devenus l'un des groupes soul les plus populaires de la scène soul de Philadelphie dans les années 70. Tout au long de leur carrière, ils ont connu plusieurs changements de composition. Au milieu des années 70, ils se sont à nouveau séparés et un autre groupe a repris le nom original, The Blue Notes, qui accompagnait auparavant l'ancien batteur et nouveau chanteur Teddy Pendergrass.
