She won the talent show [iStar Search[/i in 1988 after winning for an unprecedented 12 straight weeks. From it, she got her major break starring in the Broadway musical [iJekyll & Hyde[/i, composed by her soon-to-be husband. For it, she won the Theatre World Award winner for best debut performance.
