English soul-funk band Imagination, started by Leee John, Ashley Ingram and Errol Kennedy in 1981, had Body Talk out that same year, on Black Sun in Canada and MCA Records in the US. Just An Illusion and In The Heat Of The Night keep it in disco and boogie, and by 1989 Love's Taking Over on RCA has crossed into house.
