The division of Columbia started around 1961.

The red, white and black label design with the Columbia eye logo at right was used through 1971. The all red labels with "CSP" at top were introduced in 1972.

For dating purposes, CSP had 60 reissues in its catalog by May 1976 with 15-20 more planned by the end of 1976.
