Company history:
EMI Records Ltd., since incorporation was an immediate subsidiary of [l359207, and as of 2011 formed part of the recorded music division of [l1330982 (Formerly known as [l1032063) On the 11th Nov 2011, Citigroup (ultimate owner of EMI Group Ltd.) signed a definitive agreement to sell EMI Group Ltd., and its various worldwide operating companies to Vivendi SA. The transaction was subject to certain regulatory approvals. Regulatory approvals were obtained with the requirements of certain divestments, the sale completed on the 28th September 2012.

As a condition of the sale to Vivendi SA. (owner of the various companies that formed part of the [l38404), the regulatory authorites required certain record businesses owned by EMI Group Ltd. to be divested. The [l806790 (PLG Holdco Ltd.), which the company forms part of was created for this divestment. On the 6th Feb 2013 it was announced that a definitive agreement had been entered into to sell the The Parlophone Label Group to the Warner Music Group, Inc. ([l2345) and this transaction was completed on the 1st July 2013. As of that date Parlophone Records Ltd., became an indirect subsidiary of Warner Music Group, Inc.

In June 2016 the company sold its wholly owned subsidiary [l64026 to Blue Raincoat Music Ltd.
